Coffee Club Project at Msia School Tanzania
Eric Duncan, Chairman, and Rob Sinclair, Managing Director, made a presentation on behalf of Aimers Coffee and Tea and Bidfood UK at our Msia School in Tanzania. The initiative involved donating 38 bunk beds and 135 mattresses to enhance the existing accommodations in the girls’ dormitory, which previously lacked proper bedding.
The event was attended by representatives from the Tanzanian Government, local village elders, students, members of the school board, and parents associated with the Coffee Club. The gathering featured musical entertainment and a buffet lunch.
With the new beds and mattresses, the school is now able to house 80 girls and 55 boys overnight, significantly reducing their daily travel of 20 kilometers and lowering their risk of danger during long walks. This improvement has been made possible by contributions from the community and customers.
Additionally, the Government has pledged to install running water in the dormitories this year. This will be sourced from a well funded last year, providing students with essential showering facilities.
